ABOUT US
It was while traveling in Czech Republic and Ukraine for ice hockey tournaments and camps that the vision for World Sports Consul, a nonprofit
organization, was conceived. A mom and her three children witnessed first hand the interest of children from Eastern European countries about America.
Children in Ukraine learned from their Ukrainian coach about America where the coach had played professionally and coached youth hockey.
Since the fall of communism, Eastern European countries have been working hard toward successful market economies. Through public diplomacy efforts,
we can assist these countries in strengthening their civil societies. Many children would love to participate in ice hockey as well as other sports,
but this is difficult considering the cost and access to sports equipment and training. Many children learn English as a second language in school,
but they have few opportunities to practice speaking the English they are learning.
World Sports Consul will provide donated sports equipment, uniforms and training to children in Eastern Europe who could not afford it otherwise.
World Sports Consul will provide English language practice as well. Tournaments and camps in both the US and Eastern Europe will provide opportunities
for children to interact and share knowledge of their cultures.
