OLEG TSIRKOUNOV
Oleg Tsirkounov,
owner and head trainer of Advanced Hockey Training, grew up in the
Ukraine where he learned the importance of skill development.
He played for Sokol Kiev and Team Ukraine. Coach
Oleg played in the 1994 and 1996 World Championships where he was
scouted by the New York Islanders who later invited him to their training
camp. Oleg played Major Junior Hockey in the OHL with the Owen Sound
Platters and went on to play four years professionally in the CHL with the
Columbus Cottonmouths, Topeka Scarecrows, Memphis River Kings, Oklahoma
City Blazers, Macon Whoopee and Wichita Thunder. Coach Oleg
tutored in Turcotte Stickhandling program for 3 years. This has made
Oleg an excellent stickhandling instructor. Coach Oleg helped launch the
successful Ice Jets Youth Hockey Association in Dallas, Texas where he trained
and coached teams from 2002-2006.
Coach Oleg says, “I love to see kids develop their individual skills
in practice and watch them succeed by putting those skills to use in
a game setting. Having a great work ethic is what I look most for in
a player, and it is never too late to learn.”
Coach Oleg holds Level 4 certification by the USA Hockey Coaching
Education Program.
Currently, Mr. Tsirkounov coaches the ’97 and 2001 Sokol Kiev Youth Hockey
Teams in Kiev, Ukraine. Oleg continues to play professionally on
Kompanion Kiev in the Ukraine Championship League.
